These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the online platform African Dance Dictionary and the purchase and use of its digital products and services.

All contracts for offers of the African Dance Dictionary are concluded exclusively with the provider named above and not with any third-party platform providers.

2. African Dance Dictionary offers

These Terms and Conditions apply in particular to the following offers:

  • Access to the African Dance Dictionary online platform

  • Digital dance entries, explanations and cultural background information

  • On demand video content and educational material

  • Online learning content related to African dances

  • Memberships and subscriptions with recurring access

  • Lifetime access products with one-time payment

3. Accounts, age and registration

3.1

To use most African Dance Dictionary offers, you need a user account.
When you complete a purchase or sign up for a free trial, an account is created automatically and access details are sent to the e mail address you provided.

You must keep your login details confidential and protect them from access by third parties.
Any use of the platform via your account is attributed to you.

3.4 Minimum age

4. Conclusion of contract

5. Prices and payment

6. Free trial, subscriptions and lifetime access

6.1 Free trial for monthly and yearly subscriptions

Monthly and yearly subscription plans include a seven-day free trial period, unless stated otherwise on the product page.

During the free trial, you may cancel the subscription at any time without charge.

6.1.3
If you do not cancel before the end of the seven-day free trial, the selected subscription will automatically convert into a paid subscription and the payment method on file will be charged.

6.2 Monthly subscription

6.2.1
The monthly subscription is billed on a recurring monthly basis.

6.2.2
The subscription renews automatically each month unless cancelled.

You may cancel the monthly subscription at any time.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing month. No partial refunds are granted for started months.

6.3 Yearly subscription

6.3.1
The yearly subscription is billed on a recurring yearly basis.

6.3.2
The subscription renews automatically for another year unless cancelled.

6.3.3
You may cancel the yearly subscription at any time during the running subscription year.

6.3.4
The cancellation becomes effective at the end of the current paid subscription year, calculated from the date of the first successful payment.

6.3.5
To avoid automatic renewal and a new charge, cancellation must be completed before the end of the current yearly billing period.
No partial refunds are granted for unused time within a subscription year.

6.4 Lifetime access

6.4.1
Lifetime access is a one-time purchase that grants unlimited access to the African Dance Dictionary content for an unlimited period of time.

6.4.2
Lifetime access does not include a free trial period.

6.4.3
No recurring payments apply.

6.5 Switching between payment plans

6.5.1
It is not possible to switch directly between different payment plans (monthly, yearly or lifetime).

6.5.2
If you wish to change your plan, you must first cancel your existing subscription.

6.5.3
After the current subscription period ends, you may purchase a new payment plan separately.

7. Right of withdrawal and refunds

7.1

Statutory consumer withdrawal rights remain unaffected where applicable by law.

7.2

After the free trial period has ended and a subscription payment has been processed, refunds are generally excluded.

7.3

No refunds are granted for partially used subscription periods.

7.4

Lifetime access purchases are non-refundable unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.

8. Use of the platform

You may use the African Dance Dictionary platform only for your own personal or professional learning purposes.

8.2

You agree in particular:

  • not to share your account access with third parties

  • not to provide false or misleading information

  • not to upload or distribute illegal, offensive or harmful content

11. Liability

The provider is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health as required by mandatory law.

11.2

In all other cases, liability is limited to foreseeable damages resulting from breaches of essential contractual duties.

Any further liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law.

The provider is not liable for data loss if it could have been avoided by appropriate backup measures.
